Middle View Merino Stud was formed in 1977 by Sid and Judy Walters, after a successful ram breeding program for their own needs and interest in buying rams from people in the area
In the mid 80’s John Coy was employed to help put more wool on the Middle View sheep. 1990 was the inaugural on property ram sale where all 60 rams offered sold in 50 minutes to average $640. In the pursuing years rams and semen have been sold into all sheep breeding states and territories.
In 2003 Craig Wilson was employed to work alongside John Coy for a couple of years. 2005 saw a family restructuring and Bob and Mikala took over the Middle View Merino Stud. This made sense as Bob was already performing all duties with regard to direction of the stud. Bob and Craig Wilson now work side by side classing and performance testing all sheep within the stud, making huge steps in profitability of Middle View Merino’s.
