Industry Leading Genetics
At Bogo Merinos we place great importance in benchmarking our genetics to provide existing and prospective clients with creditable objective information to make decisions regarding the genetic direction of their flocks.
We encourage our clients to participate in Wether Trial Comparisons and we participate in Central Test Sire Evaluation and Merino Select. All these comparisons provide objective data on the genetic difference between individual animals or bloodlines, the effects of feeding and other environmental aspects are removed.
Wether Trial Comparisons
The Bogo bloodline is one the top performing high accuracy bloodlines in Wether and Ewe Trial Comparisons Australia wide.
We do not enter our own sheep in wether trials because we believe the performance of client flocks gives a better indication of bloodline performance, and is a more accurate indicator of the results prospective clients can expect to see in their flocks.
Download the Bloodline Comparison (127kb) for a quick look at where the Bogo Merinos bloodline sits in the industry.
