Stud Ewe Performance

At Middle View we are 100% focused on profitability for our clients, in both the fine wool family and the medium wool’s, we know that  lower fibre diameter and more fleece weight are the main profit drivers but we also know that staple strength and body weight produce  more dollars as well. Our last sire purchase combined all these factors with a FD of 16.4, a GFW of 13.2 and a body weight of 132kg with staple strength of 61nkt at 118mm staple length.

We have also started a poll merino family with 80 of them in lamb to what has been described as the best poll ram of this era. This ram is Corramandel “Sir Thomas”, WA. Shown to the right in half wool.

Climate – very harsh cold winters with temperatures down to -15 degrees and very hot summers with temperatures up to 40 degrees.
Elevation – 800m
Rainfall – 550mm – 600mm
Pastures – Mostly improved, fertilised every other year.
